Turkey Sends Aid To Tajikistan, Georgia, Palestine And Syria

ANKARA (A.A) - 18.06.2002 - Turkey sent monetary aid to Tajikistan and Georgia, which are both suffering from drought, and humanitarian aid to Palestine.
Turkey donated 70 thousand U.S. dollars to Tajikistan, which is suffering from drought, in the first six months of this year.
Turkey sent 200 thousand U.S. dollars to Georgia, whose agricultural production decreased due to drought. Turkey also donated 100 thousand U.S. dollars following the quake disaster in this country in April.
Turkey responded to the calls made by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), which is working to help the Palestinian refugees, and donated 200 thousand U.S. dollars.
The Red Crescent dispatched four lorries of food stuff and medicine to Palestinian refugee camps in May. The total aid of Red Crescent amounts to 111 thousand U.S. dollars.
On June 10, the Red Crescent sent humanitarian aid, including 200 tents, 1000 blankets, food stuff and medical equipment to Syrian people who faced damages of Zeyzoun Dam collapse.
