ANKARA (A.A) - 17.06.2002 - State Minister Kemal Dervis said on Monday that there were several dimensions of uncertainty in economy, and noted, ''there is no doubt that it has some political dimensions.''
Following the meeting held under chairmanship of Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit in which recent economic developments were taken up, Dervis told reporters that Ecevit requested some information about recent economic situation.
Dervis said that he informed Ecevit about recent developments in economy during the meeting.
Ecevit seemed very well and expressed his views during their meeting, Dervis noted.
Dervis stated that Central Bank Governor Sureyya Serdengecti, Treasury Undersecretary Faik Oztrak and Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA) Chairman Engin Akcakoca attended the meeting.
They thought that such meetings should be held often, Dervis pointed out.
Dervis said that they informed Ecevit about real economy, financial sector and foreign trade.
Asked if the uncertainty in markets and fluctuations stem only from politics, Dervis said, ''uncertainty has several dimensions. There is no doubt that it has some political dimensions and dimensions related with economy. I will not make further statement at the moment. We are pleased that the prime minister is well.''
