Number Of Banks In Turkey Decrease 30 Percent After Mergings And Closures

ANKARA (A.A) - 16.06.2002 - The number of banks in Turkey decreased 30 percent from 81 to 57 because of closures, mergings and sales, Turkey Banks Association annuonced on Monday.
This number will become 56 if the Banking Inspection and Supervision Agency (BDDK) accepts Yapi Kredi Bank's demand to take over Pamukbank.
