Dervis: Turkey Was Provided With 11.5 Billion U.S. Dollars Of Loan By I.M.F. In 2001

ANKARA (A.A) - 14.06.2002 - State Minister Kemal Dervis for Economy said on Friday that Turkey was provided with 11 billion 564 million U.S. dollars of loan by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) within the framework of the Stand-by agreement in 2001.
Responding to interrogation motion submitted to the parliament by Tevhit Karakaya, a deputy from Erzincan province, Dervis said, ''Turkey was provided with 11 billion 564 million U.S. dollars of loan by the IMF within the framework of the Stand-by agreement in 2001. Meanwhile, the World Bank provided 2.2 billion U.S. dollars of loan to Turkey. Turkey used 1 billion 156 million U.S. dollars of this loan.''
''Loans provided by the IMF were used to support the foreign exchange reserves of the Central Bank,'' he added.
DERVIS UNDERGOES A SUCCESSFUL SURGICAL OPERATION
State Minister Kemal Dervis for Economy underwent a surgical operation of meniscus on Friday.
A medical team headed by Prof. Dr. Mehmet Binnet operated on Dervis.
Doctors said that the operation was successful, and Dervis was in good health situation.
