Dervis Says They Should Focus On Medium Term

ISTANBUL (A.A) - 13.06.2002 - State Minister Kemal Dervis for Economy said on Thursday that they should focus on medium term and this was actually the most important thing for direct foreign investments.
Dervis met with Foreign Capital Association (YASED) members at lunch at the Ciragan Palace in Istanbul.
Dervis made a statement on recovery of investing environment and future of economy. He started his statement by thanking Brazil for opening the door for Turkey for the second round in the World Cup finals by beating Costa Rica.
''It is very easy to make deliver this speech after such a victory. If there are now Brazilian investors among you, I want to thank especially them. Because we really needed Brazil's help,'' Dervis said.
Expressing his opinions about foreign investments and Turkey's growth, Dervis said, ''we should focus on medium term. Actually, this is the most important thing for direct foreign investments. Because, foreign investors takes into consideration not only today but also at least medium term and future. So production capacity and employment are very important for us. We should consider the issue of uniting these at medium and long term.''
