ANKARA (A.A) - 03.06.2002 - Prime Ministry Press Consultant Cem Avci said on Monday that Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit is expected to attend the summit meeting that will be held on June 7 under the leadership of President Ahmet Necdet Sezer.
Prime Minister Ecevit called Cem Avci to his office following his regular check-up. Avci said that the medical team of Baskent University Hospital does its best for the recovery of Prime Minister Ecevit, adding that Ecevit is expected to attend the meeting that will be held in Presidential Residence on June 7.
KUTAN AND ERDOGAN TO ATTEND EU SUMMIT
Felicity Party (SP) leader Recai Kutan and Justice and Development Party (AK Party) Recep Tayyip Erdogan will attend the European Union (EU) Summit to be held on June 7.
Kutan said on Monday that they would attend the EU summit which would be headed by President Ahmet Necdet Sezer.
When asked whether there would be a vacuum in the government due to Prime Minister's Bulent Ecevit's illness, he stated that actually the government was ill, adding that firstly the government should leave.
Erdogan who visited Ankara Chamber of Trade (ATO) with the party officials said that they would participate in EU summit.
Erdogan said that they would attend the summit which would be held on June 7 and added that they could not relate Prime Minister's health condition with not going to the summit.
