ANKARA (A.A) - The United States demanded further cooperation from a number of countries as part of the operation it carries out against terrorist roganizations, chiefly Al Quaida and Taliban, it was reported on Friday.
An official from the Turkish Foreign Ministry commented on the news that appeared in a number of dailies that said that the United States asked for permission from Turkey to conducat research in Turkish territorial waters and Turkey accepted this request.
He said ''The United States asked for further cooperation from a number of allies and Mediterranean countries in its fight against terrorist organizations such as Al Quaida and Taliban.
The same official said that the two countries would cooperate as the United States requested, by taking into consideration international principles of law.
When asked to clarify the content of this cooperation, he said that Turkey's sovereignty rights would be preserved during this cooperation.
