U.S. Wants Cyprus Talks To Be Speeded Up

WASHINGTON D.C. (A.A) - 30.05.2002 - U.S. Department of State announced on Thursday that it wanted the Cyprus talks to be speeded up in order to reach the June-target put forward by the U.N.
Department Spokesman Richard Boucher said in a written statement that the U.S. strongly supported the good willing initiatives of the U.N. to help the sides on the island to reach a comprehensive solution on basic issues and it was ready to help. The sides have to act more rapidly to reach the June-target, it was added in the statement.
