ANKARA (A.A) - 25.05.2002 - Social Democrat People's Party (SHP) leader Murat Karayalcýn said on Saturday that the general elections could be held in spring 2003, adding that SHP has to take part in it.
The main office of the party was opened the same day in a ceremony. The party administrators visited Ataturk's Mausoleum before the opening.
Addressing the party members, Karayalcýn said that they aim to bring a new understanding to the Turkish politics.
Karayalcýn said that the party congress would be held in September, 2002 adding that the term in office of party leader in SHP is limited to seven years.
SHP was founded on May 24, 2002. Karayalcýn was the former mayor of Ankara.
