NIGDE (A.A) - 25.05.2002 - State Minister Kemal Dervis said that the lack of inspection in the banking sector was the main cause of the economic crisis of 2001 in Turkey, when he spoke at the opening of Birko Threat Factory in Nigde on Saturday.
Dervis said that the economic figures of the first four months of this year were signaling an economic growth and added that growth would continue in the coming months.
''This summer, the economy will grow and the inflation will drop,'' Dervis said.
Finance Minister Sumer Oral who also spoke at the ceremony pointed to the structural reforms achieved in the public finance. He stressed that the state has to work more efficiently.
Commenting on the demands of certain groups to hold early elections, Oral said political stability was very important, therefore such demands were actually creating trouble for Turkey.
