IZMIR (A.A) - 23.05.2002 - Moderate earthquake shook Aegean Sea early on Thursday. There are no reported casualties following the quake which was felt in Aegean Izmir province and environs.
Bogazici University Kandilli Observatory and Seismology Institute said the quake, measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale was recorded at 07.50 local time. The epicenter of the quake was off shores of Karaburun, northwestern region and Aegean Sea.
The quake was also felt in Karaburun and Foca coasts.
EARTHQUAKE IN KAHRAMANMARAS
Moderate earthquake shook southern Kahramanmaras province early on Thursday morning.
Kahramanmaras Governorship said on Thursday that there were not any immediate reports of casualties in the earthquake which was recorded early in the morning.
Officials at Kahramanmaras Governorship told A.A correspondent that an earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale jolted Andirin township of Kahramanmaras early in the morning.
The officials said that the earthquake did not cause any losses of life or property in Andirin township, the epicenter.
