ANKARA (A.A) - 21.05.2002 - Justice Minister Hikmet Sami Turk said on Tuesday that Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit continued his works in the hospital so there was no need for proxy.
Turk answered questions of reporters after attending a ceremony in Ankara.
When asked what he thought about discussions on implementation of proxy system due to Ecevit's health, Turk said, ''there is no need for proxy as the Prime Minister continues his works in the hospital. I visited the hospital yesterday and met Mrs. Ecevit. The Prime Minister is quite fine.''
Responding another question, Turk said that 3-5 thousand inmates would be released when the law which revised some articles of the Law on Conditional Release and Suspension of Cases and Punishment would enter into force, and that 1,500 prisoners had benefited from the law so far.
Responding a question about Repentance Law, Turk said that the leaders were still observing the bill that had been prepared by his ministry.
