Finance Minister Oral Receives Kahkonen

ANKARA (A.A) - 20.05.2002 - Finance Minister Sumer Oral said on Monday that they reached a consensus with IMF delegation about the fact that the developments on budget and public finance were positive as of the first quarter of 2002.
Oral received the same day Juha Kahkonen, the IMF Turkey Desk Chief.
Kahkonen didn't issue any statement about the meeting, while Finance Minister Sumer Oral said that they assessed the performance of the economic programme with the IMF delegation.
Oral said that they also diccussed what could be done to prevent any diversion from the targets of the economic programme until the end of 2002.
Oral added that they discussed the bill on public financial management that has to be submitted to the parliament till June, adding that they reached consensus of opinion with the IMF delegation that the structural reforms were carried out in line with the letter of intent dated January 18, 2002.
