CANNES (A.A) - 19.05.2002 - Turkey is promoted during the Cannes Film Festival, one of the most important cinema activities of the world.
Films promoting Turkish tourism are being shown during the festival with the initiatives of Turkey's Tourism and Promotion Counsellor's Office in Paris.
The 30-second promotion film in which historical and touristic places in Turkey are introduced is being shown to tourists in Cannes.
Tourism Ministry had agreed to show the promotion film for 300 times till May 26.
''Itiraf'' (Confession) and ''Yazgi'' (Destiny), films directed by Zeki Demirkubuz, will be on screen on May 24. But, these films are not within the scope of the competition.
''Sarkici'' (Singer), a film by Ersin Pertan, ''Yesil Isik'' (Green Light), a film by Faruk Aksoy, ''Hicbir Yerde'' (Nowhere), a film by Tayfun Pirselimoglu, ''Deli Yurek'' (Crazy Heart), a film by Osman Sinav, ''Selale'' (Waterfall), a film by Semir Aslanyurek, ''Son'' (The End), a film by Levent Kirca, ''9'', a film by Umit Unal will be on screen held by foreign film companies.
The festival will end on May 26.
