NEW YORK (A.A) - 16.05.2002 - The 21st Traditional Turkish Day Parade will be held in New York, the United States, on May 18.
State Minister Sukru Sina Gurel, State Minister Resat Dogru and Tourism Minister Mustafa Tasar will attend the parade.
General Staff Janissary Band, Culture Ministry State Folk Dances Group, Ankara Club Seymenler Gruop, Malatya Municipality and Federation of Turkish-American Associations folk dances team will display their performances during the parade.
A ball will be hosted at New York's Brooklyn Art Museum on May 17.
Meanwhile, two Kangal dogs will participate in the parade this year.
Calling on all Turkish citizens living in the United States to attend the parade, Federation of Turkish-American Associations Chairman Egemen Bagis said, ''the parade is the most splendid activity to promote Turkey abroad. It became a symbol of determination of Turkey and the whole Turkish world. It is our national duty to attend the parade.''
