IZMIR (A.A) - 14.05.2002 - Tight security measures were taken on Tuesday to ensure the security in the tripartite meeting between Turkey-Romania-Bulgaria that will be held in Cesme town of western Izmir province.
Izmir Security Directorate charged 150 policemen to ensure the security in the province and around Cesme Sheraton Hotel where the meeting would be held.
ILIESCU AND PURVANOV IN IZMIR
Romanian President Ion Iliescu and Bulgarian President Georgi Purvanov arrived on Tuesday in western province of Izmir.
A 44-member delegation including Presidency advisors Simona Mirela Micuelscu and Corina Cretu, Foreign Ministry State Secretary Cristian Diaconescu, Romanian Ambassador to Sofia Constantian Grigorie, Romanian State Advisor Georgi Pascu and Foreign Ministry Director General Mihna Constantinetev is accompanying Iliescu.
An eighteen-member delegation including Bulgarian Deputy Foreign Minister Ivan Petkov, Presidency Executive Secretary Andrey Karaslalov, Presidency Economy Advisor Ertan Kara and Foreign Ministry's Southeastern Europe Director Gancho Gunev is accompanying Purvanov.
