Gurel: Turkish Society Living In U.S. Has Important Position

CHICAGO (A.A) - 13.05.2002 - State Minister Sukru Sina Gurel said on Monday that the Turkish society living in the U.S. has an important position.
Speaking in Chicago, Gurel said that the Turkish society in the U.S. is a very qualified society, adding that ''our main policy about the Turkish people living abroad is that they should be both indispensable individuals for the societies they live and they should continue having connections with Turkey without losing their identity.
Gurel said that the education level of the Turkish socities has to be very high in order to reach these two goals, adding that ''I hope the Turkish society to be a more influential group in the U.S. which will affect the decision making organs.''
