NEW YORK (A.A) - 07.05.2002 - Streets of New York, particularly Madison and Park Avenue, were decorated on Tuesday with Turkish and American flags due to the 21st Turkish Culture Festival and Turkish Day Parade organized by the Federation of Turkish American Associations (FTAA).
Turkish and American flags were hoisted by a ceremony to the twin poles in Bowling Green park, the oldest park of New York.
Mehmet N. Ezen, Turkish Consul General to New York, FTAA President Egemen Bagis, Bowling Green Association President Arthur Piccolo, and Turkish and American people were in attendance at the ceremony.
Students of Amity school sang National Anthem and U.S. national anthem during the ceremony.
FTAA officials said that the flags would be on the poles till May 20.
