Dialogue Process Between Turkey - Azerbaijan - Armenia Expected To Start In Reykjavik

ANKARA (A.A) - 01.05.2002 - Foreign Minister Ismail Cem's proposal for holding a ''tripartite meeting'' between foreign ministers of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Armenia is expected to come true in Iceland in May.
The foreign ministers of three countries will come together in Reykjavik, Iceland during NATO Foreign Ministers meeting between 14-15 May.
Foreign Minister Cem, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Vilayet Guliyev and Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanyan will attend the meeting which aims to ensure and maintain peace and stability in the Caucasus and to start a dialogue process for the solution of Karabakh problem.
Cem put forward his proposal during the meeting held in Istanbul by Turkish Economic and Social Studies Foundation (TESEV) last year.
Cem had noted that the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia damaged the security of the whole region, adding that ''I think that the coming together of Turkey with officials of the two countries will have a serious contribution to searches for solution.''
No positive response had been received from Armenia to the proposal since Last February.
