Armenian Issue To Be Included In Text Books

ANKARA (A.A) - Fight Against Baseless Genocide Allegations Coordinational Council decided to include the so-called Armenian genocide in Turkish text books as of 2002-2003 education year in order to inform Turkish youth about the past, present and future of Armenian allegations.
The council was convened headed by Deputy Prime Minister Devlet Bahceli. The council issued a written statement after the meeting saying that they decided on a number of measured that need to be taken against these allegations.
It was also stated that all the Ottoman archives at the State Archives General Directorate were open to Turkish and foreign scholars and researchers.
The council will have its next meeting in June, 2002.
