After General Staff Chief General Huseyin Kivrikoglu, Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit and Constitutional Court Chief Judge Mustafa Bumin condemned Justice and Development Party (AK Party) leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan. As a result, Erdogan fell into a worse situation than racist Le Pen of France. Speaking at the Democratic Left Party (DSP) group meeting, Prime Minister Ecevit said, ''the AK Party, the heir of a dark past, has been trying to show itself as innonect and planning to win next general elections as the first political party.''

FIVE THOUSAND MORE PEOPLE TO BE RELEASED FROM PRISON
New draft law re-arranging some articles of the Law of Conditional Release from Prison and Suspension of Punishments which was annulled by the Constitutional Court, was approved and legalized by the Parliamentary General Assembly. Five thousand more prisoners are expected to be released from prison in coming days.

TEN THOUSAND ANZACS ATTEND ANZAC DAY CEREMONIES
Ceremonies to mark the 87th anniversary of Anzac Landing in Gelibolu started in northwestern province of Canakkale yesterday morning. Nearly 10 thousand Australian and New Zealander people attended the Anzac Day Ceremonies.

''KANGAL'' DOGS TO ATTEND TURKISH DAY MARCH IN NEW YORK
The 21st traditional Turkish Day March will be held in New York, the United States, on May 18. Worldwide famous Kangal dogs to be taken to the United States, will attend the march for the first time.

THEY INTRODUCE TURKISH CUISINE IN UNITED STATES
Ahmet Yavuz and his wife has been introducing Turkish dishes to their customers in their restaurant in Pike Place, one of the most famous tourism and entertainment centers of Seattle, the United States. When former U.S. President Bill Clinton wanted to try Turkish dish during a visit to Seattle, Yavuz cooked special examples from Turkish cuisine, and sent them to Clinton.

WE FEEL ASHAMED
Parliamentary General Assembly has approved and legalized the new draft law re-arranging some articles of the Law of Conditional Release from Prison and Suspension of Punishments which was annulled by the Constitutional Court. As a result, two dangerous murderers Agca and Kirci will be released from prison in coming days. Now, people expect President Ahmet Necdet Sezer to take action against such a shameful event.

HERE IS SPIRIT OF ISTANBUL
Foreign Minister Ismail Cem and his Greek counterpart George Papandreou met with President Yasser Arafat of Palestine and Prime Minister Ariel Sharon of Israel within the framework of their visit to the Middle East. Cem and Papandreou has succeeded in encouring the sides to take small steps towards peace.

DHKP-C AND PKK TO BE INCLUDED IN EU'S LIST
A high-level official of the European Union (EU) stated for the first time that Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C) and terrorist organization PKK would be included in the EU's list of terrorist organizations. Speaking at a panel discussion on ''World Order in the Wake of the September 11 Terror Attacks, and Turkey'' held within the framework of the Fourth World Turkish Businessmen Convention, Manuel De La Camara, the Ambassador to Spain, the term president of the EU, said, ''good relations between Turkey and the United States will be advantageous. We do not consider these relations as an alternative of the EU. Meanwhile, DHKP-C and PKK will be included in the EU's list of terrorist organizations.''

ERDOGAN SHOCKED
Ankara State Security Court (DGM) Prosecutor Nuh Mete Yuksel interrogated Justice and Development Party (AK Party) leader Recep Tayyin Erdogan within the framework of the investigation he launched. Following the interrogation, Yuksel transferred Erdogan to Ankara DGM Alternate Judge’s Office, and requested his arrest. However, the judge's office did not accept Yuksel's request, and released Erdogan.

SUMMIT MEETING OF 'CLOSE FRIENDS'
Foreign Minister Ismail Cem and his Greek counterpart George Papandreou met with President Yasser Arafat of Palestine in West Bank city of Ramallah. Arafat welcomed Cem and Papendreou in front of his headquarters surrounded by Israeli tanks. President Arafat addressed Cem and Papendreou as ''two close friends of him''.

VACCINE OF PEACE TO MIDDLE EAST
Foreign Minister Cem and Greek Foreign Minister Papandreou met Arafat and Sharon. Referring to Cem and Papandreou as ''his two close friends'', Arafat said that there could not be peace in the Middle East before a peace agreement. When asked how long the siege would continue, Arafat said, ''ask this to Israel and the United States.''

AK PARTY IS HEIR OF A DARK PAST
Prime Minister Ecevit said that the political life was experiencing the process of uncertainty, adding, ''the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) is the heir of a dark pas and it imagines that it can be the number one party in political life by showing itself as if it was acquitted.'' Criticizing also the Republican People's Party (CHP), Ecevit said by meaning the People's Democracy Party (HADEP), ''CHP accepts the risk of cooperation with a separatist party to win more votes in elections. It pays court to every thought. Such parties will vanish like burst bubbles in elections.''

DOES THIS NATION FORGIVE YOU?
The parliament rapidly adopted the bill on ''second Amnesty Law'' which was prepared with the pretext of filling the ''gap'' created by the abolition decision taken by the Constitutional Court. In accordance with the bill, Haluk Kirci and Mehmet Ali Agca will benefit from the amnesty. Haluk Kirci: ''He was sentenced to death for seven times in 1988 on charges of killing seven students who were members of the Turkish Workers' Party (TIP) in Bahcelievler district of Ankara before military coup on September 12, 1980. Under the conditional release in 1991, his sentence decreased to 70 years. Later, he was released accidentally. He got married at large and Mehmet Agar was the person who acted as a witness at his marriage. He was acquitted in assasination case of Topal, the King of Casinos, due to lack of evidence. He was sentenced to four years in Susurluk gang case.'' Mehmet Ali Agca: ''He killed Milliyet newspaper's editor-in-chief Abdi Ipekci on February 1, 1979. He fled from the Military Prison in Maltepe and later he was sentenced to death for killing Agca. On May 13, 1981, he attempted to assassinate Pope John Paul II. He was sentenced to life in Italy. He was extradited to Turkey on June 14, 2000 after the Pope forgave him. He was sentenced to 36 years on charges of usurpation before September 12, 1980. However, the sentence was later decreased to seven years for his good conduct.''

''WE WANT TO SEE PEACE''
Foreign Minister Ismail Cem and his Greek counterpart George Papandreou who firstly met with Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat in his besieged headquarters and later with Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon made recommendations for solution and brought proposal for organization of an international conference. During their meeting with Arafat, the two ministers said that terrorism should absolutely not be supported. They asked Sharon to withdraw from Palestinian cities. Papandreou said that as two members of European famely, they wanted to see peace in the Middle East.

ECEVIT'S DAY OF POLEMIC
Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit accused the Republican People's Party (CHP) of cooperating with the separatist organization to win more votes in elections and paying court to every opinion and Justice and Development Party (AK Party) of being the inheritor of a dark past.

ERDOGAN TO BE TRIED WITHOUT DETENTION
Justice and Development Party (AK Party) leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan will be tried without detention because of a speech he delivered in 1992. Erdogan was interrogated by Ankara State Security Court (DGM) Prosecutor Nuh Mete Yuksel, Later, Yuksel transferred Erdogan to DGM Alternate Judge's Office, and requested his arrest. Ankara DGM no: 2 Alternate Judge Ramazan Aksan also interrogated Erdogan. Aksan decided to release Erdogan to be tried without detention.

BUMIN WARNS
Constitutional Court Chief Judge Mustafa Bumin gave important messages during the ceremonies held to mark the anniversary of foundation of the Constitutional Court. Bumin said, ''decisions taken to close down the political parties, put Turkey in difficult situation in international platforms.''

HANG OCALAN NOW
Relatives of martyrs met with Land Forces Commander General Hilmi Ozkok. They said, ''while our children are laying underground, terrorist organization PKK head Abdullah Ocalan has been provided with luxiries on Imrali Island. He did not have even a small field before, now he has an island. Hang him now.''

TURKEY AND VATICAN SIGN STATEMENT OF INTENT
A statement of intent was signed between the Directorate General of Religious Affairs and the Papacy Inter-religious Dialogue Council.

Istanbul Historical Turkish Music Society led by Ahmet Ozhan gave a concert in Afghan capital Kabul. The concert charmed both Afghans and foreign diplomats in Afghanistan. Robert P.
