E.C.H.R. Rejects Applications Of Hunger Strikers Protesting F-type Prisons

STRASBOURG (A.A) - 24.04.2002 - European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) rejected on Wednesday the application of inmates who went on hunger strike to protest the F-type prisons in Turkey.
The lawyers of inmates who were on hunger strike asked the Court to take precationary measure against Turkey under Article 39 of ECHR's statute which is used for urgent applications.
The court rejected a total of 20 applications requesting the Court to operate Article 39 and it called the inmates to end their hunger strikes.
