ANKARA (A.A) - 16.04.2002 - Felicity Party (SP) leader Recai Kutan on Tuesday proposed Turkey to cut its economic, military, diplomatic and political relations with Israel till Israel withdraws from the Palestinian territories.
Addressing the group meeting of his party, Kutan criticized Israeli occupation in Palestinian territories. Kutan pointed out that it was not only the Palestinian people but the international law that was murdered in Palestine, and claimed that chaos and crisis would be dominant on the world from now on.
Pointing out that none of the countries in the world would feel safe from now on, Kutan said, ''I am calling out to Israeli people and Jews who has common sense: Your Prime Minister who became blind with rage and your leadership cadre drag you into a disaster. You think you demolished Palestinians, but in fact you demolish your legitimacy. You make the whole world your enemy. Don't rely on your power and weapons. Any power based on injustice and inequity can not be lasting.''
Kutan said, ''you can not settle on the Palestinian territory by killing, insulting, and demolishing, you can not live in tranquility and you can not get rid of terror.''
SP leader Kutan defended that Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit and other partners of the government covered a policy contradicting with the nation and international law.
Kutan said, ''this attitude of yours is not for the benefit of Turkey's interests. If you want to see the power of Turkey, this is an opportunity. Do what is right. Let us cut economic, military, diplomatic, and political relations with Israel till it stops occupation in Palestine.''
