U.S. Chamber Of Trade Chairman Donohue To Visit Turkey

ISTANBUL (A.A) - 16.04.2002 - The U.S. Chamber of Trade Chairman Thomas Donohue will visit Turkey to accelerate economic and commercial relations between Turkey and the United States and hold contacts between April 17 and 19, 2002.
Turkish-American Business Council working under the structure of Foreign Economic Relations Commission (DEIK) made a statement on Tuesday and said that Donohue's visit to Turkey had importance as it is the second stage of the consensus to cooperate on Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (KOBIs) between the U.S. Chamber of Trade and Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) reached during Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit's visit to the United States.
Donohue, TOBB Chairman Rifat Hisarciklioglu, DEIK Executive Board Chairman Rona Yilcali and Turkish-American Business Council Chairman Y. Akin Ongor will come together in a press meeting which will be organized by Turkish-American Business Council on April 18.
The U.S. Chamber of Trade is the biggest business organization of the world with its synergy which is created by over 3 million member firms and organizations and its communication network covering 3 thousand domestic chambers and 900 associations of trade.
It works coordinately with 92 U.S. chambers of trade in 75 countries.
Donohue has served as the chairman of the chamber since 1997.
Donohue also serves as a member of President Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations.
