Gurel Due To Paris

ANKARA (A.A) - 11.04.2002 - State Minister Sukru Sina Gurel will go to Paris to participate in ''OECD Regulating Reforms Voluntary Country Examinations Program'', that will take place in April 15-16, 2002.
Speaking to A.A correspondent, Gurel said he would go to Paris on April 14.
Gurel said OECD will prepare report during the meeting in which it will evaluate Turkey regarding a regulatory reform, and in which it will include recommendatory proposals.
Gurel said, ''various areas will be discussed. There are evaluations and proposals regarding need to reforms, administration capacity for a quality regulation, competition policy, market policies, and issues particularly electricity, highway and telecommunication. They earlier sent it to us as a draft. The OECD officials visited Turkey and made observations. They worked in our expert institutions.''
Pointing out that he would be accompanied by a delegation comprised of the concerned bureaucrats, Gurel said there are high ranking bureaucrats in the delegation who earlier had participated in those works.
Gurel said they would be in an effort to draw a realistic picture during the 2,5 hours allocated to Turkey, and noted that they would also respond various questions.
Gurel said he would make a general evaluation regarding the situation of the Turkish economy, and the level of the reform works carried out in Turkey.
