ANKARA (A.A) - 09.04.2002 - Munib bin Asad Saim al-Dahar, the Syrian Minister of Electricity, arrived in Ankara on Tuesday as the official guest of Energy and Natural Resources Minister Zeki Cakan.
Cakan, who welcomed the guest minister at the airport, told reporters that he believed that the results they would get from their contacts would have important contributions to bilateral relations between Turkey and Syria.
He would exchange views with al-Dahar about cooperation possibilities in energy, particularly cooperation in electricity, Cakan said.
Cakan noted that relevant institutions would brief al-Dahar about electricity production, transmission and distribution.
Al-Dahar said that they would debate the improvement of cooperation between the two countries and hoped that their cooperation with Turkey in every field would be further developed.
He met with Syrian prime minister prior to his visit to Ankara, al-Dahar noted and conveyed best regards of their prime minister to friendly Turkish nation.
Al-Dahar added that he was sure that they would reach results that would contribute to bilateral relations during his visit to Ankara.
