ALMATY (A.A) - 09.04.2002 - The laying of oil pipelines in Baku-Ceyhan project will start next July.
State Minister Resat Dogru said on Tuesday that the detailed studies about Baku-Ceyhan project will be completed in June and the pipelines will start to be laid in July.
Dogru, who came to Almaty for Euroasian Economic Summit, responded to questions of journalists about the project.
Dogru said that the sponsoring companies are about to finish their detailed studies, adding that the oil which will be carried by Baku-Ceyhan pipeline will be loaded to tankers in 2005. Dogru said that they also want Kazakhstan to join the project, noting that officials of the sponsoring firm came to Almaty and informed Kazakh officials in details.
Dogru stressed that the Central Asian energy line should reach Europe in the form of East-West energy corridor.
