ANKARA (A.A) - 09.04.2002 - National Education Minister Metin Bostancioglu denied all accusations about him which were brought to the parliament's agenda with a parliamentary investigation motion.
AK Party deputy Irfan Gunduz and his friends submitted the motion to the parliament requesting for a parliamentary investigation claiming that Bostancioglu misused his authority as the National Education Minister due to ''his arbitrary and ideological applications.''
Speaking in the parliament, Bostancioglu said that the claims were all baseless and stressed that he didn't pursue any policy based on favoritism or corruption.
''I have never prohibited the usage of words such as devotion to national, spiritual, moral, cultural and human values, and Turkey, Turkish nation,'' he said. A secret voting will take place in the parliament.
ECEVIT SAYS THERE IS NO NEED FOR BOSTANCIOGLU'S RESIGNATION
Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit underlined the importance of National Education Minister Metin Bostancioglu's services.
Responding questions of journalists about parliament's decision to set up an inquiry commission about National Education Minister Bostancioglu, Prime Minister Ecevit said, ''the most important thing is the services of National Education Minister Bostancioglu.''
Prime Minister Ecevit added that there was no need for Bostancioglu's resignation.
