ARMENIAN GENOCIDE TO BE IN SCHOOL BOOKS
Turkey is taking a giant leap forward regarding the ''so-called Armenian genocide.'' The state summit decided to change the concept in the teaching of Armenian rebel and incidents which has been valid so far. As a second step, the realities will be included in the social sciences and history school books taught at all education levels for the first time in the Republic history. The school books and curriculum will be prepared by special commissions in which the experts of the National Security Council (NSC) Secretariat General will attend under the coordination of National Education Ministry and Higher Board of Education (YOK). Teachers will be educated about ''so-called Armenian genocide'' by seminars and conferences till all books are written. The theme of the books will be ''Turkish and Armenian peoples are friends.''

CAGLAR CARRIES INVESTMENTS TO BALKANS
Yesim Textile, which belongs to businessman Cavit Caglar and which makes 200 million U.S. dollars of exportation, will increase its investments in Moldovia and Bulgaria in order to decrease the labour, tax and energy costs.

SCHOLARSHIP TO 300 THOUSAND STUDENTS FROM CHP
It has been proposed to establish ''Ataturk Eductaion Foundation '' with the shares of Is Bankasi, which were Ataturk's heritage to the Republican People's Party (CHP). It has also been proposed to grant abroad scholarships to 300 thousand students with the Is Bankasi's shares.

TERROR AIRLINES
Iran, which did not give a positive response to the extradition of terrorist Cemil Bayik, has now set up a new airport and a company from which PKK terrorists can use in the Northern Iraq border. Iran facilitated the entrance of terrorists in its territory and their passage to Europe with an airport constructed in Wrmee city at the border and the Meds Air company. The company says in its advertisements, ''we are carrying passengers to kurdistan without visa.'' The passangers of the airline company which will make its first flight from Dusseldorf can go to Arbil or As Suleymaniyah with ''transit visa'' after getting off the plane in Iran. It will be enough for the passengers to carry only a passport for their travel. The Foreign Ministry has launched efforts related with this new air bridge of Iran. Officials said, ''Iran has provided facilities to PKK terrorists who aim to reach the camps in Northern Iraq and Iran from Europe.''

DERVIS: ''NOW IT'S EARTHQUAKE'S TURN''
World Bank officials shed gren light for the 700-800 million U.S. dollars of loan at the quake summit held in Istanbul. State Minister Kemal Dervis said, ''we can provide some other loans within the scope of the measures to be taken against earthhquake. However, these should be used efficiently.''

AMNESTY ON THE WAY AGAIN
It is not the government which is responsible for the new amnesty this time. It is the Constitutonal Court which is responsible for it. Ten years of reduction was made in the punishments with the amnesty law that has been passed. Thus, for example a person who is sentenced to 20 years in prison was released after serving ten years. However, the Constitutional Court said, ''no, this cannot be. It is wrong.'' How will it be? Here is the calculations of the Constitutional Court: You will firstly drop three-fifth of the 20-year imprisonment punishment, that is 12 years. Then, you will add 10-years of reduction under the Amnesty Law. The result is immediate release. According to this calculation, the convict is the creditor side. A draft has been prepared in line with this request and the consent of the partners has been taken. The draft law which will be sent to the parliament next week will take effect till the end of the month and 5 thousand more convicts will be released.

TANK TENDER COULD NOT WAIT
A response came from the National Defense Ministry related with the reactions to awarding Israel with the tank tender. Secretary General Buyukkantarcioglu said, ''the incidents in the Middle East has been continuing for 55 years. We could not wait for the end of the incidents.''

RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN THE MIDDLE EAST NEGATIVELY INFLUENCE TURKEY'S POLICIES
Developments experienced in the Middle East in the recent one week and escalation of the clashes cause important ''jolts'' in Turkey's fundamental foreign policy targets.
There is a danger for the distortion of Turkey's relations with Israel and Arab countries although Turkey has a different position from the other regional countries with its close relations both with Israel and Palestine.
The uncertainty of the U.S. regional policies is also one of the issues that Ankara feels uneasy.

EXPECTATIONS FOR CHINESE TOURISTS
Tourism Ministry Undersecretary Savas Kuce said their expectations that two million tourists will come from China did not reflect the facts, noting that, ''bringing 50-100 thousand Chinese tourists this year will be a great success for us. Meanwhile, expectations for Chinese tourists increased the interests to Chinese courses.''

ECEVIT CORRECTS ONE AGAIN
Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit, who continues to make clarifications to his statement ''genocide is being committed'', pointed out that, ''in fact I attribute importance to Israeli people. I would prefer not to use such a saddening expression.''
Ecevit also said, ''I am sure that they also share my grief over the incidents.''

BAHCELI: WE ARE READY FOR REFORM
Devlet Bahceli, the State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, who also acts as the leader of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), said the government will be mobilized regarding the issue of reforms, noting that, ''we have conveyed the proposals regarding restructuring to the partners. We never opposed to the reforms.''

800 MILLION U.S. DOLLARS CREDIT AGAINST QUAKE
State Minister Kemal Dervis responsible for economy said they were about to provide source from the World Bank for the preparations of a probable quake in Istanbul.
Dervis said 800 million U.S. dollars credit would be provided from the World Bank to strenghten bridges, viaducts, hospitals and schools.

PRESIDENT SEZER: WE ARE IN A GOOD COURSE
President Ahmet Necdet Sezer said everybody has responsibilities regarding the non-registered economy which provides facilities to corruption and which forms an obstacle in front of setting up a stability in economy.
Sezer said positive developments that have been recorded recently strengthened the hopes that the Turkish economy would overcome the difficulties.

ECEVIT WARNS HIS AIDES: BE READY FOR EARLY ELECTIONS
While Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit wanted the elections to be held on time, he did not refrain from warning his party. Ecevit, who said, ''what will happen in Turkish politics at what time cannot be certain'', noted that an early election would push Turkey into problems. Noting that some positive developments had been recorded in economy, Ecevit said that early elections would hamper those positive developments.

TURKEY GATHERS TOGETHER FOR PALESTINE
Inhuman behaviours of Israel in Palestinian territory were condemned by various demonstrations in Turkey. Demonstrations were staged in Ankara, Trabzon and Malatya on Saturday to condemn Israel. European Union (EU) and the United Nations (U.N) were called to end the the bleeding during the demonstrations while many citizens joined the demonstration in Ankara.
