CHICAGO (A.A) - 07.04.2002 - Turkish ceramic companies and Turkish Ceramic Sector Union draw the attention in an international fair opened in Chicago, the United States.
The kitchen and bath ceramic producers including Eczacibasi Vitra, Serel and Ege Seramic have become the focal point of the U.S. companies with their giant pavilion and high-quality products.
Sadi Burat, the Chairman of Turkish Ceramic Sector Union and Eczacibasi Vitra General Director, said on Sunday that they had a 2.5 percent share in American ceramic exportation.
Burat noted that this share could be increased to 5 percent till 2003 and this was their target.
They raised 196 million 703 thousand U.S. dollars from their total exports, Burat stated and pointed out that 19 million 768 thousand U.S. dollars of this amount was obtained from the United States.
Turkish Ceramic Sector Union also informed the Americans about the history of ceramics in Turkey.
Tulin Murathanoglu, a representative of the Serel Seramic, said that Turkey's ceramic history of 8 thousand years affected the Americans very much. She added that many companies planned to visit Turkey.
