GREEK AMBASSADOR:''LET'S MAKE COOPERATION''
Greek Ambassador in Ankara Ioannis Corantis said, ''in case Turkey and Greece make cooperation, we will be a new economic power throughout the world. Let us make cooperation in tourism. Let us market our countries together and earn more money.''

ECEVIT: LADEN WILL BENEFIT FROM THIS
Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit said the ongoing violence in Palestine would cause escalation of Islam radicalism, noting that, ''thus opportunities will be given to Laden and organizations like al-Qaeda.''

SUPRISE LEADER IN CENTRAL RIGHT
Central right created a new leader and a new formation. Leader of the motion is Mehmet Bayar, who is very well known in central right. His slogan is moderate majority.
Mehmet Bayar, 42, is currently the Undersecretary of Turkey's Embassy in Washington D.C. Bayar, who had acted as the consultant of former President Suleyman Demirel, will resign from his post and return to Turkey to be the leader of the Democrat Turkey Party.

KURDISH SONGS IN MILITARY BARRACKS
Provincial gendermarie command in eastern province of Bitlis hosted the delegation of Union of Turkish Chambers and Commodity Exchange (TOBB). An orchestra of privates sang Kurdish songs and entertained people at the cafe of the gendermarie command.

TEHRAN REMAINS SILENT
Turkey has been putting pressure on Tehran to extradite Cemil Bayik and Halil Atac, members of the terrorist organization PKK like it had done on Syria in the past for extradition of Abdullah Ocalan, the head of the PKK. However, Iran has been keeping its silence. If Iran continues its attitude, Foreign Affairs Ministry and General Staff are expected to assume a harsh attitude.

ECEVIT: ''IF SHARON DO NOT STOP, PEOPLE LIKE LADIN WILL INCREASE''
Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit met with Prime Minister Hamid Karzai of interim government in Afghanistan. Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Ecevit referred to recent developments in the Middle East, and said, ''Palestinian people have been exposed to genocide in front of the world.'' He called on the United States to intervene in the Middle East, and do something to stop Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. ''If Israel does not withdraw from Palestinian territories, Islamic fundementalism will accelerate, and East-West contrast will become inevitable,'' he said.

KARZAI THANKS TURKEY
Hamid Karzai, the Prime Minister of the interim government in Afghanistan arrived in Ankara, and met with Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit and received by President Ahmet Necdet Sezer. Karzai said, ''we are very pleased that Turkey undertook the command of International Security Aid Force (ISAF). Turkish soldiers will help us to strengthen.''

SPRING TO COME NEXT WEEK
Heavy rain, which effected the whole country, will depart from the country as of Monday. Temperatures will rise. However, rain will come again next week. The temperatures will particularly decrease in Western regions.

DIPLOMATIC WARNING TO IRAN
Ankara conveyed Iran that bilateral relations would be reviewed and that a new difficulty could be experienced if Cemil Bayik, the second man of the terrorist PKK organization, is not extradited.
Turkey called on Iran to show its sincerity regarding the good neighborhood relations.
Ankara said it was evaluating a series of measures which may extend to ''power policy'' that made Abdullah Ocalan, the head of the terrorist organization, to remove from Syria.

ECEVIT: THERE IS GENOCIDE
Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit said Israel commited the crime of ''genocide'' against Palestinian people in front of the whole world. Ecevit said Ariel Sharon aimed at eradicating the Palestinian state, and stressed that Sharon administration preferred war and occupation instead of dialogue and peace.

ECEVIT: ''ISRAEL HAS BEEN COMMITTING GENOCIDE''
Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit accused Israeli administration of committing genocide in front of the world. Prime Minister Ecevit said, ''some Arab elements do not want foundation of a Palestinian state in the region. Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has chosen war and occupation instead of dialogue. The United States should take immediate action to put an end to Sharon's obsession.''

CRITICAL MEETING IN ECONOMY
The final decision will be taken about ''Istanbul Approach'' during a meeting at Istanbul's Ciragan Palace. State Minister Kemal Dervis for Economy, officials from the Banking Regulatory and Supervisory Agency (BRSA) and the Union of Turkish Chambers and Commodity Exchanges, and World Bank's Representative in Turkey Ajay Chhibber will attend the meeting.

SP TO SEND DELEGATION TO PALESTINE
The Felicity Party (SP) will send a five-member delegation to Tel-Aviv in a move to help President Yasser Arafat of Palestine. Celal Esin from the Motherland Party (ANAH) will also take place in the delegation. The delegation will try to hold talks with Arafat and Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres.

ISRAELI EMBASSY SAYS ISRAEL CARRIES OUT ''SELF-DEFENSE OPERATION''
The Israeli Embassy in Ankara sent a letter to Parliamentary National Defense Commission Chairman and Democratic Left Party (DSP) Secretary General Hasan Gulay and explained the reasons of Israel's operation. Hasan Gulay had refused the Israeli Embassy's invitation for its reception on the occassion of the 54th anniversary of foundation of Israel. The letter sent by Israeli Embassy Undersecretary Moshe Kamhi defended that Israil was carrying out a ''self-defense operation'' and the aim of this operation was to ''end terrorism which prevents settlement of peace and atmosphere of negotiation and targets Israeli civilians''.

IS BANKASI DIRECTOR GENERAL OZINCE: THERE IS NO CONFIDENCE
Is Bankasi Director General Ersin Ozince said, ''we could not be liberal adequately. We could not carry out sufficiently the rules of free market economy. Besides, economic and political instability led foreign exchange to escape abroad.''

TOBB CHAIRMAN HISARCIKLIOGLU: ''ENOUGH FOREIGN INVESTORS DON'T COME TO TURKEY''
Union of Turkish Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) Chairman Rifat Hisarciklioglu said that enough capital of foreign investors did not come to Turkey. Hisarciklioglu stated that at least a part of non-interest surplus should be used in economy in order to revive Turkish economy.

TURKEY IS ADDRESS OF CHEAP HOLIDAY
The survey which was conducted by Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in 2001 said that Turkey became the second cheapest country after Slovakia among the countries which are the members of the organization. Turkey became a favorite country for foreign tourists to spend their holidays and entertained 11,6 million tourists in 2001 by breaking all times of records.

KARZAI SAYS THEY PREFER TURKEY TO GERMANY IN PEACE FORCE
Prime Minister Hamid Karzai of interim government in Afghanistan said that they would be very pleased with Turkey's undertaking the command of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) deployed in Afghanistan, and gave the guarantee about the security of Turkish soldiers. Karzai who met with Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit on Thursday said that they trusted Turkish soldiers completely. Ecevit following his meeting with Karzai announced that Turkey would undertake the command of ISAF.
