PRIZREN (A.A) - 05.04.2002 – The Namazgah (open-air prayer place), which was built in Prizren city of Kosovo in 1455 during the campaign of Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror, but which was damaged in time, was re-opened to service on Friday.
The namazgah was restored with the support of Turkish institutions and Turkish soldiers taking place in peace force in Kosovo.
Kosovar Culture and Sports Minister Behcet Braysori and State Minister Resat Dogru inaugurated the historical namazgah and a park and monument around it.
Dogru said that this namazgah was one of the artifacts that Turks offered to common heritage of humanity.
They were waiting for the response of the United Nations (U.N.) management in Kosovo and Kosovar religious affairs directorate for the restoration of Sultan Murat I Tomb, which was also a part of common heritage in Kosovo, Dogru noted.
Dogru said that Kosovo was the common land of people living there and added that they would continue to do their best to help kinsmen and other communities living in Kosovo.
