DIYARBAKIR (A.A) - 04.04.2002 - Murat Karayilan, one of the top members of the terrorist organization PKK, was captured in Britain.
Diyarbakir State Security Court (DGM) Chief Prosecutor's Office sent the file regarding terrorist Karayilan to Ankara.
Sources told A.A correspondent on Thursday that the Justice Ministry International Law and Foreign Relations General Directorate sent a note to Diyarbakir DGM Prosecutor's Office, saying that terrorist Karayilan was captured in Britain.
The note requested that the files of the cases related with terrorist Karayilan should be sent to Ankara.
Thus, the extradition request for Karayilan was sent to International Law and Foreign Relations General Directorate on March 26.
Officials said that there were four separate case files regarding terrorist Karayilan in Diyarbakir DGM which were all prepared under article 168 of Turkish Penal Code (TCK).
Terrorist Karayilan had earlier sought asylum from the Netherlands. But, this request had been returned.
