Palestinian People Have Been Living Through Human Tragedy

ANKARA (A.A) - 02.04.2002 - Motherland Party (ANAP) Deputy Chairman Salih Yildirim said on Tuesday, ''Palestinian people have been living through a human tragedy. I am calling on the whole world to put an end to this inhuman tragedy, and to prevent a nation from being humiliated.''
Holding a press conference at the parliament, Yildirim said, ''Palestinian people have been struggling since the United Nations' decision in 1947. Nearly 2.5 million Palestinians have been living in camps as refugees in different countries.''
''Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has come into the power with support of 77 percent of Israeli people by pledging to settle peace in the world. Then he started the war. The whole world has been watching the human tragedy in PÐalestine. 320 Israelis and 1,200 Palestinians lost their lives in the last 18 months,'' he said.
He added that military solution could not help efforts to settle peace in the region.
