Erdogan Calls On The Christian World To Stop Violence In Palestine

ORDU (A.A) - 01.04.2002 - Justice and Development (AK) Party leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said ''if there's going to be peace in Palestine, that peace will be brought by Turkey's national policy and national stance.''
Speaking at a public meeting on Monday, Erdogan criticized the government's economic policies and denied that economy was recovering.
Speaking about the ongoing violence in the Middle East, Erdogan said ''Innocent people are being killed in Palestine and the world is remaining quiet. I'm calling on to the United States, to the Christian World and the United Nations. Why aren't you performing your duties? The Christian World is celebrating Easter at the moment. Easter means peace for Christians. If you want peace all over the world, you should stop the blood shed in Palestine.''
He also asked the Turkish government to be more active to stop the ongoing violence in the Middle East and criticized the government to sign a tank modernization project with Israel under the present circumstances.
