BAGHDAD (A.A) - 31.03.2002 - State Minister Tunca Toskay said on Saturday that the meetings he would hold in Iraqi capital Baghdad would contribute to improvement of Turkey-Iraq relations.
Speaking to reporters at Baghdad's airport, Toskay said he would attend the opening of the Turkish Export Products Fair in Baghdad on April 1 and he would have meetings with high level Iraqi officials.
Noting that Iraqi Oil Minister Amir Rashid Muhammad al-Ubaydi and he would discuss issues of oil, natural gas and energy, Toskay said that they would take up the issue mof development of economic relations.
Toskay added that relations between the two countries had been improved in last two years.
Meanwhile, Rashid who welcomed Toskay at the airport said that Toskay and he would have meetings on development of bilateral relations, adding that Toskay's visit was very important for them.
Regarding the OPEC's latest meeting in Vienna, Rashid said that an agreement had been reached on keeping the oil exports at the same level.
Rashid added that American and British representatives in the U.N.'s Sanctions Committee had suspended important contracts of Iraqi oil sector worth 700 million U.S. dollars.
