ANKARA (A.A) - 29.03.2002 - State Minister Sukru Sina Gurel said on Friday about recent developments in the Middle East, ''Turkey calls on both sides in the Middle East to act with common sense, and especially Israel should review many of its concepts.''
Gurel met with Public Works Minister Abdelmalik Sellal of Algeria.
Responding questions of journalists about Israel's entering Ramallah, Gurel said, ''we are all concerned about recent developments in the Middle East. Because Turkey is a state that has been protecting historical and cultural ties with the region. Therefore, we have been affected extremely.''
Noting that developments in the Middle East had gone out of control, Gurel said, ''Turkey calls on both sides in the Middle East to act with common sense, and especially Israel should review many of its concepts in order to assume a reasonable and productive attitude.''
