ANKARA (A.A) - 29.03.2002 - Trade volume between Turkey and Iraq is expected to increase to two billion U.S. dollars this year as a result of the ''shuttle trade visits''.
Within the framework of the strategy of the Foreign Trade Undersecretariat (DTM), a total of 11 trade delegations paid visits to Iraq. As a result of the visits, most of which took place under the leadership of Foreign Trade Undersecretary Kursad Tuzmen, Turkish companies increased the exportation from 50 million U.S. dollars to 800 million U.S. dollars.
The Turkish companies wait for the tenders to be resulted this year.
As a result of the reciprocal visits which took place often, the Turkish companies became advantageous against other companies in Iraq.
