KONYA (A.A) - 28.3.2002 - Turkey's fourth biggest dam will be built on Ermenek River in Karaman's Ermenek township.
The construction of the dam will start in May and the dam is expected to cost Turkey one quadrillion 170 trillion TL. The dam will start operating in five years.
The dam which will be built on 59 square kilometer, will have a capacity to hold 4,5 billion cubic meters.
State Water Affairs (DSI) 4th Region Director Sukru Engizek said that the new dam will help to bring a solution to Turkey's electricity shortage.
