Foreign Ministry: We Do Not Have Any Information About Assailants Of Attack

ANKARA, March 27 (A.A) - Foreign Ministry said early on Wednesday that they do not have any information about assailants of the attack near Hebron in which Major Cengiz Toytunc.
A Foreign Ministry statement said that unidentified assailants staged an armed attack on a vehicle belonging to Temporary International Presence in Hebron (TIPH) in Hebron on Halhoul bridge around 7.00 p.m.
The statement noted, ''in the attack, Major Cengiz Tontunc, one of our officers on mission in TIPH, died and Captain Huseyin Ozarslan was wounded. A member of TIPH from Switzerland also lost her life.''
The statement harshly condemned the attack, offered condolence to family of Toytunc, implored him God's mercy, and wished quick recovery to wounded Ozarslan.
Wounded captain was taken under medical treatment in Jerusalem, the statement said and noted that his health condition was not critical.
The statement pointed out that Turkey's Ambassador Ahmet Uzumcu in Tel Aviv and Consul General Huseyin Avni Bicakci in Jerusalem had immediately launched necessary initiatives in relevant Israeli and Palestinian authorities and requested that assailants be found as soon as possible.
''We have also contacted with the officials of Norway, which has undertaken the coordinator country role in TIPH,'' the statement said.
The statement added that initiatives had been launched to bring the dead body of Toytunc and wounded captain Ozarlan to Turkey.
