Kenan Evren Turkish Professorship Opened In Atlantic University

WASHINGTON D.C. (A.A) - 27.03.2002 - A Turkish professorhip was opened in the Florida Atlantic University in the Stated States in the name of former president Kenan Evren.
Evren and Culture Minister Istemihan Talay who attended the opening ceremony in the university campus in Boca Raton city stressed that opening of a Turkish professorship in university would contribute to promotion of Turkey in the United States.
U.S. former secretary of state and former commander of NATO European Allied Forces Alexander Haig, Democrat Party Florida Congressman Robert Wexler who is the chairman of the Turkish Friendship Group at the U.S. Congress, and Turkish Ambassador to the United States Faruk Logoglu attended the ceremony.
Also the Turkish associations in the United States were represented in the opening ceremony.
In the ''Kenan Evren Turkish Professorship'' in the Florida Atlantic University, lessons and programs will be arranged to introduce Turkey.
Meanwhile, Culture Minister Talay is expected to leave the United States for Turkey later in the day.
