ISTANBUL, March 26 (A.A) - Finance Minister Sumer Oral has said that it was not true to take up the tax only with its income dimension and added that the tax should be fair and sensitive to the economy.
Speaking at the opening of the panel entitled, ''Activity of the Turkish Tax System and Unregistered Economy'', Oral said on Tuesday that European countries which had no public finance problems were debating to revive the economy in tax policy and to open the way for the economy these days.
Pointing out that tax was a source accumulated for public expenses, Oral said that it was not true to take up the tax only with its income dimension.
Oral went on saying, ''tax is not only for meeting the expenses, but it should also be fair and sensitive to the economy.''
If there is no justice in tax, if it's not sensitive to the economy, the system should be reviewed absolutely and its deficient aspects should be removed, he said.
Oral said that the tax that is both economic and fair is not sufficient either, adding that the citizens also should be concious that where the taxes were expended.
