ANKARA, March 26 (A.A) - True Path Party (DYP) deputy Mustafa Eren started on Tuesday sit-in protest at the Parliamentary General Assembly Hall.
Eren started the protest as the other deputies left the hall.
A group of DYP deputies are accompanying Eren while DYP leader Tansu Ciller, Democratic Left Party (DSP) group acting leader Aydin Tumen, Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) group acting leader Mehmet Sandir, Motherland Party (ANAP) group acting leader Nihat Gokbulut, Justice and Development Party (AK Party) group acting leaders Ali Sahin and Salih Kapusuz supported Eren.
Eren had claimed during the parliamentary general assembly meeting earlier in the day that the government did not keep its promises about the Karabuk Iron and Steel Enterprises (KARDEMIR) and announced that he would not leave the hall till Thursday evening to protest this.
Ciller, who supported Eren, claimed that Turkey was administered badly and said that she privatized KARDEMIR as the prime minister in 1995.
Four-year losses of KARDEMIR 1 billion U.S. dollars those days, Ciller said.
Ciller noted that the enterprise started to mark profit till 1997 after its privatization and claimed that it started to mark losses since 1997.
The losses of KARDEMIR reached 80 million U.S. dollars due to bad administration of the government, Ciller said.
