ISTANBUL, March 23 (A.A) - A quake measuring 4,8 on the Richter scale took place in Marmara Sea early on Saturday.
Bogazici University Kandilli Observatory and Seismology Centre said that the quake took place at 4.36 a.m.
The quake, whose epicentre was off northwestern Tekirdag province was also felt in Istanbul.
TEKIRDAG GOVERNOR:''NO DAMAGE OCCURED IN THE EARTHQUAKE''
Tekirdag Governor Cemalettin Sevim has said that the earthquake which took place in Marmara Sea near Tekirdag early Saturday morning didn't cause any damage.
Sevim told the A.A that he earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale didn't cause panic among people. He said that people didn't come out of their houses when they felt the earthquake because of the rain.
