ANKARA, March 13 (A.A) - General Huseyin Kivrikoglu, the Chief of General Staff, and other high-ranking military officials will attend contacts of U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney in Ankara.
Speaking at the weekly press conference, Foreign Affairs Ministry Spokesman Huseyin Dirioz told reporters on Wednesday, ''General Kivrikoglu and other high-ranking military officials will attend contacts of Cheney in Ankara.''
Meanwhile, Cheney's programme in Ankara has begun to become clear.
Sources told the A.A correspondent that Cheney who is expected to arrive in Ankara on March 19, would first visit the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the Great Founder of modern and secular Republic of Turkey.
After holding a meeting with President Ahmet Necdet Sezer, Cheney will attend inter-delegationary meetings to be presided by Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit.
Cheney and the Turkish side will continue holding talks at the luncheon.
U.S. Vice President Cheney is expected to depart from Ankara on Wednesday.
Dirioz told reporters that contacts of Cheney in Ankara were expected to focus on bilateral relations, the Middle East and the issue of Iraq.
