Cakmakoglu: Turkey Has Not Given Final Decision About Commanding I.S.A.F.

ANKARA, March 13 (A.A) - National Defense Minister Sabahattin Cakmakoglu said on Wednesday that Turkey had not given final decision about commanding International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) that was working to ensure security in Afghanistan.
Cakmakoglu responded to questions of reporters during the Parliamentary Planning and Budget Commission.
National Defense Minister Cakmakoglu said that a Turkish unit was on mission in the ISAF.
Moreover, Cakmakoglu noted, a training unit comprised of 20 people was sent to that country.
Cakmakoglu stated that this training unit would train 650-member Afghan unit and that the clothes of this unit would be met by Turkey.
''The issue on the agenda is who will undertake the command of ISAF after Britain. We have stated that we welcome commanding ISAF. However, there are some issues under discussion. Our military, technical and financial demands for commanding ISAF after Britain have been set in the end of the works of the Foreign Ministry, National Defense Ministry, General Staff and Prime Ministry. These are under technical discussion. There is not any decision given at the moment,'' Cakmakoglu added.
