ANKARA, March 11 (A.A) - Austrian Ambassador Marius Calligaris visited on Monday Justice and Development Party (AK Party) leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Erdogan said related to the news on ''TRT's broadcasting in Kurdish language in certain hours'' that there was nothing on that issue officially stated.
Calligaris said that he had been working as ambassador for three and a half month, stating that he was paying courtesy visits to
Turkish politicians.
Calligaris said that within this framework he visited Erdogan and that his visit should also be seen as natural.
Calligaris said that he thought that the meeting was extremely interesting in such a period when political and economic discussions were intensive in Turkey.
Erdogan thanked him for his visit and pointed out that Turkish workers in Austria contributed to the cultural and commercial relations between the two countries.
Erdogan went on saying, ''thus, we are not unfamiliar with Austria and also Austria is not unfamiliar to us.''
Stating that the relations with Austria came to a very different point, Erdogan noted that the trade volume was about 850 million U.S. dollars.
He said that they wanted that number to be increased.
Upon a question regarding the news on TRT's broadcasting in Kurdish language in certain hours, Erdogan said, ''there is nothing on that issue officially stated. We will make necessary assessments when that issue gains an official ground. The certain decision of AK Party regarding that issue is definite and clear. Our view is one that is open to freedoms.''
