ISTANBUL, Feb 28 (A.A) - A moderate earthquake, measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale, shook Istanbul province at 10:37 local time on Thursday.
Bogazici University Kandilli Observatory and Seismology Institute said the epicenter of the quake was Marmara Sea.
ISTANBUL MAYOR GURTUNA SAYS EARTHQUAKE DID NOT CAUSE ANY DAMAGE
Istanbul Mayor Ali Mufit Gurtuna said on Thursday that the earthquake which occurred offshores of the Marmara Sea earlier in the day did not cause any damage in the city.
Gurtuna who attended inauguration of ITTE 2002 - International Tourism and Travel Fair at the CNR International Fair Center, told reporters that the earthquake did not cause any damage in Istanbul.
