THREE BOMBS FROM PREMIER ECEVIT
Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit made very clear statements about elections, death penalty and Kurdish TV broadcast.
Ecevit said he did not favor early elections, noting that, ''however, we came to the half way. Democratic Left Party (DSP) takes some steps for the elections that would take in time. Works started in DSP headquarters.''
Ecevit said the military did not want to intervene in the issue of capital punishment earlier, but they did not express any dissatisfaction over the discussions regarding lifting of capital punishment.
Ecevit said there were some technological obligations pertaining to Kurdish tv broadcast. Some tv broadcasts made in foreign countries, are brought to Turkey. There are satellite dishes on the roofs of houses in the region.

PROTECTION TO NEW OIL
Quality oil which was found in Ergani township in southeastern Diyarbakir province made people happy. The quality oil, described as ''Arab Light'' comes out from 2,550 meters without need for a pump.
The well, which is tightly protected by village guards, gives 600-700 barrels of oil per day.

NETHERLANDS REJECTS KESPIR'S APPLICATION FOR POLITICAL ASYLUM
The Netherlands rejected the application of Nuriye Kespir for political asylum. Kespir is reported to be one of the so-called chairmanship council members of the terrorist PKK organization.
Dutch Justice Ministry State Secretary Elsa Kasbeek said Immigration and Citizenship Department got important evidences that Kespir got involved in activities which form violence and crime of humanity.
Kalsbeek said this information and evidences, showing that terrorist Kespir commited crime, prevented them from giving refugee status to Kespir.
Kespir had been captured on September 28 last year as she was trying to enter the Netherlands through illegal ways. She applied for political asylum during the time when she was under custody.

ECEVIT: BAHCELI IS RIGHT
Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit said, ''providing cooperation with opposition parties, apart from coalition, was a process that may be used in very rare cases,'' when a journalist said, ''MHP leader Bahceli said the government would be given another shape if MHP is excluded in the Parliament in the next process, and if new formations are set up, and if this happens often.''
Ecevit said statements of State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Devlet Bahceli in this respect were right, noting that, ''I also preserve the same sensitivity.''

FUTURE OF TURKEY IS BRILLIANT
Mesut Yilmaz, the State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, who also acts as the leader of the Motherland Party (ANAP), said Turkey experienced many difficulties in the past 10 years, and that it fought against terrorism for years, and that natural disasters shook Turkey one after the other.
Yilmaz said, ''we have experienced many political conflicts and arguments, but Turkey's future is brilliant. That brilliant future will be reached with us.''
Yilmaz said, ''unfortunately, we are fighting against economic crisis at the moment. We have received many damages in those difficult years. However, those 10 years showed us our deficiencies. We know well now what we should change.''

SEVEN DIE IN TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS IN FEAST OF SACRFICE
Seven people died and 59 others were injured in traffic accidents that occurred on the second day of Feast of Sacrifice.

INVESTIGATION FOR E-MAIL MESSAGES
Justice Minister Hikmet Sami Turk said Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutorship and the State Security Court (DGM) opened investigation against publication of e-mail messages of European Union Commission's Turkey Representative Karen Fogg.
Turk said Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutorship opened an investigation as it was a crime committed in the field of informatics, and that the DGM opened an investigation as secret documents were published.

NO DIFFICULTY IN ENERGY
Devlet Bahceli, the State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, said it was envisaged that Turkey would not experience energy difficulty till the year 2006.
Bahceli said, ''demand for electricity in Turkey is almost in the same level with the electricity production. New power plants will be opened to operation step by step as demands increase.

TURKIYE (RIGHT)

FEHRIYE ERDAL DISAPPEARED
Fehriye Erdal, one of the murderers of businessmen Ozdemir Sabanci, disappeared.
Belgian Liberal Party parliamentarian Hugo Coveliers claimed that Fehriye may have left the country.
Belgian parliamentarian said Fehriye Erdal case continues for three years, however a result could not be reached yet. He said that contradicted with the principles of universal law.

BAHCELI TO VISIT FOREIGN COUNTRIES
State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Devlet Bahceli will visit Kazakhstan in March and Austria and China in May.
Bahceli, who earlier visited Turkmenistan, Germany, France, Netherlands and Belgium, this time gets prepared to visit Kazakhstan in March 18 and 24.
The MHP leader is expected to visit Austria in May 19 and 22 and China in May 26 and June 1.

ZAMAN (CONSERVATIVE)

BAHCELI: SHAPE OF GOVERNMENT WILL CHANGE IF DISAGREEMENTS INCREASE
Devlet Bahceli, the State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, who also acts as the leader of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), who contradicted with his partners on amendments to articles 312 and 159, and later on capital punishment, pointed out that the coalition should be reviewed if every issue turns into a crisis.

THEY MET AFTER 63 YEARS
Citizens, who have relatives in Syria, started to exchange greetings with their relatives in Ceylanpinar Township in southeastern Sanliurfa province. Those people will be able to stay in their houses for 48 hours.
A total of 2,966 people from Syria will pass the border to meet their relatives in Turkey.
The passages from the border will last for two days, and 2,966 Syrian citizens from 1483 families will meet their relatives in Turkey during this period.
