ISTANBUL, Feb 18 (A.A) - Galatasaray extended the contract with coach Mircea Lucescu for two years.
Galatasaray Club's football branch member Abdurrahim Albayrak said on Monday that they had reached an agreement on every issue with their coach and extended his contract for two years.
Albayrak said they would have a meeting with midfielder Sergen Yalcin this week and they believed they would sing a two-year contract with Sergen Yalcin who is now suffering from a leg injury.
Albayrak added that his club would earn 1 million 100 thousand U.S. dollars if left-sided midfielder Hakan Unsal's move to English premier league club Blackburn Rovers was secured.
Unsal wanted to play football in Europe and he would feel more comfortable if he joined his international team mate Tugay Kerimoglu in Blackburn Rovers with manager Graeme Souness, Albayrak said.
Meanwhile, Galatasaray will leave for Britain today at 16:00 for a Champions League match against Liverpool.
GALATASARAY SIGN SPONSORSHIP CONTRACT WITH CARLSBERG
Galatasaray soccer club will cooperate with Carlsberg company operating in beverage sector.
Galatasaray signed sponsorhip contract with Carlsberg on Monday at Galatasaray's Metin Oktay Facilities in Florya, Istanbul.
Under the contract, Carlsberg will assist Galatasaray Swimming School, open football schools in several parts of Turkey, develop Metin Oktay Facilities in Florya and undertake works of planting grass in training fields.
Carlsberg earlier signed similar contract with Fenerbahce soccer club.
